Yuletime Mother
By Chet
Remember, Mom, when I was small
I'd climb upon your knee,
And listen to those Christmas tales
You always told to me?
Of how the wise men saw on high
The star that lead them there;
And how the angels sang with joy
For Christ our life would spare.
You told me, too, of Santa Claus,
With whiskers just like wool;
Of how he came in dead of night
And filled my stocking full.
I remember, Mother, every word
Of what you told to me;
Today I wish I were back again
To climb upon your knee.
