The Commission sent out by Secretary Delano to investigate the charges against Indian Commissioner Smith of Minnesota, closed its labors on Wednesday last. The St. Paul Pioneer says the whole inquiry has been a "mockery and a farce" which "may shut the mouth of Congress, but will open that of the people of this State." It charges that the Commissioners were "feasted and toasted by the men they were to investigate." The Indian chiefs who were examined said the only cause of complaint they had against Mr. Smith was that he disposed of their land without their consent.
