The Pope's Nuncio being treated ill at Lisbon, his Holiness would not permit the Portuguese Minister to tarry at his Court. And a Congregation of seven Cardinals being held at Rome, it was resolved tenaciously to support the Cause of the Holy See against Portugal: The Arms of Portugal were taken down from the Palace wherein M. d'Almada lodged, who is gone to Florence. At Lisbon they have banished even the Confessor to the Grand Inquisitor of that Kingdom; 49 Jesuits have been sent from thence to Genoa.
