TIMELY CONSTRUCTION
Announcement that the city of Donna will in the near future have a modern hotel building through the medium of a reconstruction program now being launched on one of its downtown structures prompts the thought that the Lower Rio Grande Valley is definitely turning to its task of providing space for winter tourists.
Prospects at the present are bright for the finest and largest influx of such seasonal visitors in the history of this section. Chambers of commerce at a half dozen Valley cities have already mapped out definite details of their winter tourist entertainment program.
New construction has been going on steadily in the form of additional rent houses and apartment buildings over the Valley for the past nine months. This means nothing more nor less than that the Valley is ready to house its visitors. There is room for such development and expansion. The Donna project is mentioned herewith as a worthy example.
Every city in the Valley, no matter what its size, may well expect to entertain winter visitors--and profitably so--if it will make provisions to house and entertain them while the tourist season is under way.
