Full Text

Accounts from St. Louis, through various channels, as late as the 10th ult. go to contradict the reports from that place, published in our two last papers, of the disaffection of the people, and of the hoisting the Spanish standard &c.-But on the contrary, represent a very large majority of the people as being warmly attached to the American Government. Those who will recollect the kind of government they have in that territory, can easily conceive that the people will not rest contented under it; but it is detracting from their common sense to suppose that they will not put up with unavoidable temporary inconvenience, which in a short time they know will be removed.
