Full Text

Extract of a letter from Newcastle, April 26.

"I have had a most agreeable journey to this town, which, I assure you, has been greatly heightened by the temper of the people in every town I passed through from the metropolis-all hearty in the public cause. Every one appears familiar with the constitutional privileges of Englishmen; and all seem to have pursued the great Mr. Locke's Divine Essay upon government. The writers for the Ministry may assert what they please in defence of the conduct of their masters, but it is all in vain: the people seem to have too much discernment to be... to distinguish, as Hodge says, 'a sheep's head from a carrot.'"
