The national river and harbor bill carries, in round numbers, an appropriation of $25,000,000. Florida's share of this is as follows: Cedar Key, $2,500; Pensacola, $25,000; Tampa bay, $25,000; Key West, $40,000; improving the channels of Charlotte harbor and Peace creek to the Punta Gorda pier, $50,000; St. Augustine, $30,000. The appropriations for the improvements of rivers are as follows: Apalachicola, $2,000; the Choctawhatchee, $12,500; the Escambia and the Conecuh, $7,500; the Manatee, $6,000; the St. Johns, $170,000; the Suwannee, $3,000; Volusia bar, $500; the Withlacoochee, $5,400; the Caloosahatchie, $3,600; LaGrange bayou, $3,000; the Ocklawaha, $10,000; the Sarasota bay, $5,000. The surveys are ordered for continuing the improvements at Charlotte harbor, Peace river, Number Four channel, Cedar Key, Indian river between Melbourne and Jupiter inlet, St. Johns from Jacksonville to Sanford, and from Lake Monroe southward.
