The National Thespian Society Troupe No. 720 has been elevated to full club status at East Hartford High School. Membership is open to a limited number of seniors who have demonstrated superior achievement in dramatics. They also must maintain a high standard of leadership, character, and scholarship over a period of at least two years as members of the Mask and Wig and Masquers Clubs.
Students wishing to become members apply for admission in the spring of their sophomore or junior year.
The purpose of this organization is to provide national honor society recognition to deserving students and to provide a core of experienced leadership for all school dramatic productions.
The society's activities for the year are participating in all Masquers activities plus the annual dance and initiation ceremony.
Those recently inducted into the society are: Carol Newman, Barbara Stone, Lynn Hersey, Emil Vetrano, David Albano, and Rochelle Mokriski. Newly elected officers for 1954-55 are: president, Gail Templeton; vice president, Jean Oliva; clerk-treasurer, Emil Vetrano; and secretary, Rochelle Mokriski. Henry Giskin and Mrs. Mary Jane Wilson are faculty advisors.
