Yesterday came up the Swallow schooner, Capt. Watson, which left Charlestown the 2d of this month, by her we have the heartfelt pleasure of announcing the safe arrival at that port, in a very leaky condition, of the Ship Lord Mulgrave, with upwards of 400 souls: more than one hundred of them veteran officers of the royal army, which on the passage hither from Virginia had been blown off Sandy Hook in the late hard gales. Major Craige had arrived there with all the troops from North-Carolina: Savanna was reinforced, and since all the out posts were called in, Gen. Leslie (as we are informed) finds himself at the head of about 8000 men: the rebel Gen. Green was within 24 miles of Charlestown, which, after the industry of our engineer, the British Vauban, is now become inaccessible to land force.
A vessel is taken up at Charlestown to bring the officers and passengers carried thither in the Lord Mulgrave.
