Red Troops Mass For Assault of Matsu Islands
TAIPEH, Formosa, (AP) - An official Nationalist Chinese news agency said today the Chinese Reds were preparing for the arrival of military reinforcements at Foochow, capital of Fukien province, which could be used against the nearby Matsu Islands.
The news agency said the Reds were requisitioning Foochow homes, schools and other buildings for billets.
The agency, which claims underground contacts on the mainland, said Reds were organizing a "popular" welcome for the troops.
The Communist Youth Corps was reported collecting funds to buy "comforts" for the troops.
