LOSS OF THE STEAM BOAT WM. PENN,

On the 4th inst'. the Wm. Penn, belonging to the Citizens Line, plying between Philadelphia and Baltimore, took fire between the Point House and the Navy Yard, and was entirely destroyed. An attempt was made to run her on shore, which partially succeeded, but several passengers in jumping overboard were drowned. The Mail we understand, and all the Captain's papers were lost. It is said to be the first Steam Boat accident involving the loss of life, that has ever occurred on the Delaware.
