LONG HUNT FOR CHILD.

Richmond, Va., June 16.--After spending fifteen months in constant search, during which time he traversed a large portion of this country and Europe, Portland Blivens, a wealthy man of Brooklyn, N. Y., has discovered his wife and little daughter, Violet, living quietly in a modest little cottage in the suburbs of Richmond.

Blivens was married in Brooklyn about eight years ago. Despite a disparity in their ages, the pair lived happily and in course of time a daughter was born. A little later mischievous outside parties created ill feeling between them.

Fifteen months ago, on his return from a business trip to Wisconsin, he found his wife and child gone. Then began an anxious search. He heard they were in Europe and went there. The quest was fruitless and he returned to America. A few days ago he heard that his wife was living here under the name of Mrs. Marjorie Arnold. He came to Richmond and accidentally saw his wife on the street. Unknown to her he followed, ascertained where she lived and later called on her, in company with L. O. Wendenberg, a prominent Richmond lawyer, his object being to get the child back.

Mrs. Blivens secured the services of ex-Congressman George D. Wise. A long conference ensued and an agreement was finally signed allowing Mrs. Blivens to retain the child and live here, provided the little one who is now seven years old, is properly reared and allowed to see her father whenever he desires it.

Mr. Blivens has returned to his home in Brooklyn.
