The number of Indians in Louisiana, and parts adjacent is above 16 thousand warriors, the furs, will be of great value to the mechanics of the U. S. We hope the government will establish trading houses, and that the fair sex, may no longer complain of the want of muffs and tippets.--They laying out saw-mills, and instructing the savages--the first foundation to improvement. The state of Pennsylvania, laid out for the Cornplanter, on the Allegany river, some years ago --most of the boards that is sold at Pittsburgh, is sawed by them.
