Roosevelt Condemns Dies Group

WASHINGTON-(SNS)-President Franklin Roosevelt condemned the Dies committee Tuesday, declaring that the group had allowed itself "to be used in a flagrantly unfair and un-American attempt to influence an election."

The committee headed by Congressman Dies has been investigating un-American activities in America.

Mr. Roosevelt said the committee had done so by receiving testimony that Governor Frank Murphy of Michigan was guilty of treason in not extending help when it was needed in a sit-down strike flare-up last year.
