We have the pleasure of announcing to the public that the Tunnel through Blisworth-hill near Northampton, was yesterday morning completed. This Tunnel is nearly two miles in length, and has been one of the greatest difficulties the Grand Junction Canal Company have had to surmount, in executing their national undertakings. When the last length of this Tunnel was completed, the effect of the light was singularly pleasing; it appearing to resemble a beautiful star. We heartily congratulate the public on the completion of this great and important work, which promises more public benefit than anything of the kind that has yet been done in the kingdom : as it opens a direct intercourse with the Metropolis, by inland navigation, from the northern, north eastern, north western, and midland Canals and Manufactories.
