Brussels, July 12.—Since the French have repossessed their old encampments, and have adopted their formidable plan of defence, nothing of a very important nature has passed between our troops and theirs. Frequent skirmishes are all that happen, which every day become more bloody from the increasing animosity of both parties. On the 8th a large body of Uhlans in pursuing some French Patrols to Quievrain, were attacked by a squadron of cavalry. The engagement was desperate and bloody, but the Austrians were obliged to retire, with a very considerable loss, besides losing a number of prisoners. The loss of the French was likewise considerable.
