ANOTHER GOOD TOWN
Editor Charley Brown says that one Cordele citizen paid $30 for lights in his residence and $100 for lights in his place of business last month. The Cordele rates evidently are prohibitive. You folks ought to move up this way, where lights and power are reasonable, Charley.—Walton Tribune.

Monroe owns its light and power plant, and if we remember correctly, also its water system which is run in connection. But that has made it possible for Monroe and many other North Georgia towns to buy power and retail it. The power supply in North Georgia is largely sold wholesale. Lights cost nine cents in most North Georgia towns and power is sold at very low rates differing in a range from three to four cents.

There is abundant power and lighting current available and more of it being provided every day. The town of Dalton retails its own current and by word of mouth lately it has come to us that this growing North Georgia town retails current at a very reasonable rate and puts into its city treasury some fifteen thousand dollars a year net. Dalton is a smaller town than Cordele, but recently put in an enormous thread mill—is adding industries because it can do so. It is growing. That is the main thing.

Monroe and all other towns that are similarly situated will grow. Ours will do the same thing when the people who own the property in this town make their own plans for similar lighting and power supply.
