Full Text

[From the Boston Patriot.]

Yesterday Chief Justice Parker delivered the elaborate opinion of the Supreme Court in the case of Martin, found guilty of highway robbery and intent to kill. The Court decided not to sustain the motion for a new trial, and accordingly the Chief Justice pronounced sentence of Death upon the prisoner, in his usual impressive manner. The prisoner, when sentence was pronounced, exhibited little or no feeling. His whole appearance has been that of a hardened wretch. The time for his execution will be appointed by the Governor and Council.
