Men Who Deal in Stocks Will Give Part of Their Commissions Next Week.
I. A. Heilbronner of the Heilbronner company has called a meeting of the stock brokers of Butte for Monday evening to consider a plan suggested by the governing committee of the New York Stock Exchange for donating a certain percentage of commissions received next week to the American Red Cross.
Mr. Heilbronner is in receipt of a letter from John W. Prentiss, president of the Stock Exchange Association of Partners, outlining the program by which it is hoped that a substantial portion of $100,000,000 the Red Cross war council is trying to raise will be donated by the stock brokers of the United States. Mr. Prentiss asks that local brokers be interested in doing the same thing that the New York brokers have decided upon, donation of a percentage of commissions during Red Cross week, June 18-25, together with such other sums as they feel they can afford.
The following brokerage concerns have already subscribed to the plan: Dominick & Dominick. Post & Flagg. J. P. Morgan & Co., F. B. Leech & Co., J. and W. Seligman. Hornblower & Weeks.
