Brutal Assault upon a Female.—At a late hour on Sunday night, Pauline De Graff, cook on board the canal boat Gen Worth, lying at Pier No. 3 North River, while standing upon the Pier, was attacked by two men accused of attempting to violate her person, but failing in their design, choked and kicked her several times. Her cries for assistance brought Mr. Giles Barnet, master of the canal-boat Viola, to the spot, when the rascals fled, leaving their victim speechless. She was removed to a dwelling in the vicinity, where she was attended by Dr. Deforrest, who pronounces her to be internally and dangerously injured. The two desperadoes were subsequently arrested, and after being identified by the injured woman, were taken before Justice Bogart and locked up.
