Much Property Destroyed and Two People Fatally Injured.
Dallas, Tex., March 12.—A cyclone yesterday swept through the southern suburbs of Dallas and passed on toward the northeast, leveling fences and destroying small farm buildings in its path.
At De Soto, 14 miles from Dallas, three dwelling houses and two stores, including the post office, were demolished. One of the dwelling houses destroyed was that of J. M. Johnson. His 4-year-old daughter was so badly injured that she died.
Three miles east of Dallas, the dwelling house of T. D. Reagan was wrecked. The family escaped without injury. In Queen City, the extreme southern suburb of Dallas, six dwelling houses were blown to pieces by the wind. Mrs. George Bray received fatal injuries. Mr. Bray and children were seriously injured. C. D. Bourne, wife and child, and Albert Ewing and family were away from home. Their house was literally torn to pieces, and a negro servant was badly hurt. A score or more of other houses were badly damaged, but not wrecked.
The property loss in Dallas county will reach at least $100,000.
