A Petty Thief.

Frederick Brown, colored, was arraigned at this morning's session of the Court charged with the larceny of a bottle of blacking, valued at 10 cents, from the toilet room at the P. W. & B. railroad station. The evidence showed that he entered the place and had the blacking in his hand when he was seized and handed over to Officer Burrough. The prisoner claimed that he had only picked it up to look at it, when he was arrested, and Judge Lynam decided not to hold him for larceny, but to impose a fine of $1 and costs, for disorderly conduct.
