NEW YORK, Dec. 5.—The government of Nova Scotia offered a reward of $500 for information that will lead to the discovery of Joseph Preston, of Halifax, if he is alive, and $100 for information concerning him if he is dead. Preston is a relative of Mgr. Preston, of the Catholic diocese of New York, and son of a wealthy Halifax merchant. He is not of strong mind. He disappeared from a hotel in this city while traveling. It is feared that he was robbed and perhaps murdered. He is 22 years old, five feet seven inches tall, sallow, small brown mustache, dark hair, and weighs 185 pounds.
