DOMESTIC TROUBLE.
Mrs. Maggie McMinee, a person of police court notoriety, and one who is said to not be possessed of the most amiable disposition in the world, swore out a warrant on Monday last against her lord and master, Mr. McMinee, for assault and battery. It appears that a general domestic row occurred at the breakfast table, on the morning aforesaid, that resulted in the total destruction of the household furniture, together with much damage to the fair but vanquished belligerent, who brings the action to satisfy the morbid public appetite with a police court item, and exonerate herself from blame. Mr. McMinee was arrested and held in close confinement until Monday, when the partner of his toil, who had evidently repented of her haste, failed to appear and prosecute the suit. Judge Maynagh had court charges that had to be liquidated, and manifested his determination to have the official account settled before releasing the prisoner, and also hinted at the justice of arresting and holding the woman in bonds until the debt was canceled. In view of this fact, the disturber of domestic felicity and breaker of the public peace came down with $20 and left to renew again a season of peace and quiet with the injured sharer of his domestic board.
Verily, domestic life has its little ups and downs.
