PUBLIC SCHOOLS OPEN

The colored schools opened Wednesday, with promise of a large attendance. There are but slight changes in the personnel of the teaching corps. Prof. A. T. Long, late principal of the Crawfordsville schools, has been added to the list of teachers, also Miss Pauline Batties, of Madison. The addition of a new upper grade school has been instituted by the use of School No. 17, West and Eleventh streets, of late used as a white school. The teaching corps at this building is as follows: W. A. Baugh, principal; Mesdames Hazel Hendricks, Lillian Brown, Misses Frances Berry and Mattie Roberts.
