Mulloy Meets Golden Today
TAMPA (AP)--Seeded players are scheduled to meet in semi-final matches of the Dixie Tennis Tournament today.
Miami's Gardner Mulloy, top seeded, meets Grant Golden of Chicago, ranked fourth; and Bryan Grant of Atlanta, second seeded, plays Tony Vincent, third-ranked player from Miami.
Golden edged Alfredo Millet of Mexico City, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, in an extended match Friday and Vincent eliminated Henri Rochon of Montreal, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3.
Mulloy had less trouble in whipping Alberto Danel of Mexico City, 6-2, 6-3, and Grant came through with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Calhoun Dickson of Tampa.
In the women's division, Mrs. Laura Lou Kunnen, No. 2, of Clearwater, plays Ann Gray of Washington in a semi-final match today. Magdo Rurae of Los Angeles, top seeded, eliminated Maggie Mae Neeland of Clearwater, 6-0, 6-1, in the other semi-final Friday.
