WASHINGTON, (AP) President Truman's congressional leaders told him today that they are confident a "workable" economics control bill will be passed before the July 31 deadline.
House speaker Rayburn told reporters afterward that neither the administration nor opponents of the administration proposals "will get all they want" but "I think we will work out a pretty workable bill in conference."
The President told them, Vice President Barkley and House Democratic leader McCormack that he hopes for a "workable" bill.
The weekly meeting of the President and his leaders was devoted largely to a briefing on the military actions still going on in Korea.
The conferees wouldn't discuss what they were told by military officials.
