KENOSHA, Wis.--The UAW-CIO went to the county fair here and found it a good way to build friendship and understanding between city workers and farmers.
Local 72 set up a special tent at the fair where it showed movies, distributed union literature and had members of its Ladies' Auxiliary, a special fair committee, the education and political action committee on hand to talk over mutual social and economic problems with the fair visitors.
Most of the visitors were farmers and the union's exhibit was designed to emphasize to them the need for farmer-worker cooperation so that the living standards of both could be raised.
Local newspapers reported that the union's tent was the most heavily patronized exhibit at the fair.
