Double Voting.—The Hartford Times, in addressing itself to the "Freemen of Connecticut," says—"you have the privilege of doubling your vote, and the box-tender who opens it to see what is written upon it, trespasses upon your rights. He has no business to do so. It is a freeman's privilege to cast a doubled vote if he pleases." This base suggestion, so utterly subversive of every principle of equal rights and the proper exercise of the elective franchise, is now openly avowed by the organ of the Locofoco party. It is by such a course—by establishing the principle that "the end justifies the means,"—that the Locos expect to carry the next election in this State. Can any honest man be the advocate of such a party? Freemen of Connecticut, answer for yourselves.
