Molasses from Wheat:--A statement is published, supported by sufficient evidence, of successful experiments in Shenandoah county, Virginia, of this manufacture : five gallons have been produced from two bushels, and six, it is said, might have been produced with more care; equal in quality to the imported. The following is the process:-- "The grain is ground and mashed, as if for distilling--as soon as the mash arrives at the highest state of saccharine fermentation, it is strained, and the beer (as it is called) boiled down to molasses." The discovery is patented; the price of a family right is five dollars, and fifty dollars to those who manufacture for sale.
