The message of the President this day published, is another example of the purity of heart and greatness of mind, which have always distinguished that hero and patriot. Firm as a majestic rock in the ocean, he braves the tempest of popular clamor and the attacks of usurpation, supported by the rectitude of his own heart, and strongly defended by Constitutional principles:

This is the second time he has arrested other branches of the government in the career of violating the Constitution. He refused his assent to the bill apportioning the representatives of the U. nited States, according to the census, confessedly unconstitutional.

Long may that good man live to bless his country!
