NEW YORK. November 25.

Monday last his Most Christian Majesty's frigate La Nymphe, Capt. Grandchain, unfortunately run aground on the West Bank: she had on board a coasting pilot, who was not sufficiently acquainted with the navigation of our Bay: but by throwing her guns overboard, and employing lighters in taking out the heavy stores, &c. she got off without sustaining any material injury, and came up last evening to the city.

This fine new frigate of 40 eighteen pounders, a few weeks since, conveyed from Boston to Virginia the Marquis de la Fayette, who is gone to visit his Excellency General Washington at Mount Vernon.
