Full Text

PHILADELPHIA, December 7.

Extract of a Letter from London, October 4, 1769.

"It is expected the Parliament will not meet till very late, and as there are many things that must engross their attention, we expect the American affairs will not be attended to, in so much time as could be wished, so that, if a Repeal takes place, it will most likely interfere with the regular season of export; but at present it is difficult to form a judgment of matters. We wish reason and prudence may be the governing principles, as we think the present situation of things in general, is very critical."

Another Letter from London, says, "Lord Botetourt, this honor, has wrote much in favor of the Virginians." That "since the advices from thence and Boston, it was generally believed the American acts would be repealed, though some weighty people were against it; and that most persons there thought the Americans were in the right."
