POOR OLD CALIFORNIA

Consider the awful state of lawlessness and crime which must prevail in poor old California. According to testimony brought out before the Senate Committee investigating campaign fund, practically everybody connected with the Federal Department of Justice, but the office boy and janitor, were in San Francisco June 28th to July 4th on "official business," which fact is certified in the expense accounts which you, Mr. and Mrs. Taxpayer, must settle. It was merely a coincidence, that the Democratic National Convention was in session there at the same time.
