It is a matter of congratulation that the student body of the county high school is to be guided and directed in educational advancement by Mr. A. B. Lightfoot, wisely engaged as principal by the board of education. It will prove no experiment. Mr. Lightfoot is an educator of experience and his ideas and methods are known through the good work he has done throughout the state as deputy superintendent of public instruction. To the principalship of the county high school he will bring his thorough training, ripe experience and practical and sensible ideas. The school was in need of a man of his type and future results will prove the wisdom of the choice. There will be progress, wise and just discipline and mutual respect of motives and endeavor. There will also be action, as Mr. Lightfoot is not one inclined to laxity and laggardness when things can be obtained by going after them. The increased attendance at the school this fall of students from the outlying districts is one proof of the new principal's methods of keeping the educational machine working to capacity. The school term appears to open auspiciously, a large attendance in a fine new building and with a principal in charge worthy of the name.
