RODS AND RIVETS
By LEW STEPHENS
Several of the brethren are having a little trouble with bar stools lately. Not Crockett's kind, but the usual modern type. In the wee minority as these brothers are, they suffer much. God bless 'em.
Work is holding up reasonably well for the home town boys and fairly well for the lads from the north temperate zone. Let's hope for a great winter of work.
J. F. Walsh, our "well rounded" B. A. is covering the town with his usual dexterity and reports that conditions are good. W. B. Stringfellow, Presidente par excellence, says the weather is clear and the track fast in his precinct.
Brother Gore from up the Broward bailiwick reports that those of a non-union hue are gradually reforming, recanting and returning to union ways.
Did you ever watch Adam Hawk work? Then you have a treat in store for you if you enjoy the rhythm of motion and action. Adam works out of the split T formation on rod jobs. He runs the option play well, quite often keeping the ball and running for a frequent cantilever touchdown. And he can run a big job with a deft touch of a master.
All we lovers of the pigskin worry not about the football game conflicting with the union meetings. The Bucknell game is the only conflict. So plan on a good autumn of football and union activities both.
Ironworkers, freeholders, please register for the bond election for the school issue! Regardless of cards sent out by Carl Holmer, you can not vote on the bond unless you do not first register. In-former registrations are not valid.
May the good Lord heat your rivets cherry red and oil your soors well that we may find your business in rods and rivets compliments.
