Proceedings of Yesterday's Session of the Grand Lodge.
SAN FRANCISCO, May 14.—The Grand Lodge of Odd Fellows to-day voted in favor of a lower maximum rate for sick benefits, thus allowing lodges more discretion in cases of sickness and distribution of benefits.
The afternoon session of the State Grand Lodge, I. O. O. F., was devoted to the consideration of a resolution to reduce the salaries of the Grand Secretary, the Assistant Grand Secretary and the traveling expenses of the Grand Master. The resolution was defeated.
The representative mileage tax was fixed at 12 cents per member.
A resolution was introduced and adopted instructing the Representatives to the Grand Lodge to use their best efforts to secure such legislation as will make women—married and single—who are related to Odd Fellows, eligible to membership in Rebekah Lodges. The Rebekah Assembly has recently passed a law admitting married women whose husbands are not Odd Fellows, but who are related to Odd Fellows.
The evening was taken up in the consideration of the committee reports and discussions of the recommendations in the report of the Grand Representatives.
To-morrow morning the special order will be to hear the final report of a committee sent to investigate the Odd Fellows' Home.
In the afternoon the Rebekah Lodge delegates listened to addresses by A. M. Drew, Grand Master-elect, and Grand Secretary George T. Shaw. In the evening the installation ceremonies of a Rebekah Lodge were exemplified before members of the assembly in Memorial Hall, according to the recommendation of the Grand Lodge.
