INDIANA ELECTION.

Partial returns have been received from this State, which strongly indicate the triumph of the Whigs in the Hoosier State,

In Harrison co., the Whig victory is complete. The majority is about 200.

Washington co., which was supposed to be loco-foco, has, it is said, given a Whig majority of about 100.

Jennings co. has elected a full Whig ticket.

Decatur county has done the same.

Ripley co. (hitherto locofoco,) has elected a whig Senator and probably a Whig representative.

Bartholomew co. has elected a Whig member of the Legislature—a Whig gain.

In Evansville, the Whig majority is said to be 152. The county not heard from.

The passengers on the steamer Fawn heard at Rockport that two Whigs are elected to the Legislature in Spencer county.

We hear that Clark co. has gone for the Whigs by a small majority.

The Cincinnati Gazette of Thursday last has returns from Floyd, Henry. Fayette, Wayne, Randolph, Marion and Union, which have all gone for the Whigs.
ed.

The Buffalo Commercial Advertiser of Saturday says—

The following returns from three of the Northern counties of Indiana, were endorsed on a way bill received at the Post Office this morning:

St. Joseph county 170 Whig.

Laporte 50

Elkhart 150

These returns may be correct, but we suspect Elkhart should be set down in the locofoco column. It gave 175 majority that way last year.

So far as heard from, 21 Whigs and 10 Locos are elected to the Legislature. Whig gain of 2. Senate—Whigs 19, Locos 15. Whig gain 4.
