A Policeman Burns His Home.

Cincinnati, March 12.—Driven to desperation, as he says, by the thought that his home, built by the savings of a lifetime, would shelter another man after his wife's suit for divorce was decided, Policeman Frank Miner set fire to his residence in Cumminsville, about midnight Monday, first taking every precaution to prevent an alarm. He notified the engine company and the policeman nearest that he was about to burn rubbish. He claims to have acted under legal advice. Miner, a vigilant officer since 1892, was suspended from the police force Tuesday, stripped of his revolver and badge and thrown into a cell to await trial on the charge of arson for burning property in his wife's name.
