Surveyor Goforth in copying the field notes last week had his attention directed to an old Indian lead mine in the northwest part of the county which was described in the survey of 1827. He went up and prospected the land and found the old mine and everything just as described in the field notes. Part of the land is vacant and part is owned by Jim Talburt. He and Talburt formed a copartnership and laid a mineral claim on the vacant lands included in the old diggings. They are going to do some work in excavating an old shaft and confidently expects to find a rich lead of ore.
