New York, April 12.—The Adriatic arrived today. Captain Roberts says the printed story about his action toward the disabled City of Paris is not true. He laid by the City of Paris six hours, and when a boat came alongside he informed the officer in charge that he would do all in his power to assist the disabled ship. He signaled the Aldergate and with her proceeded to come up to the City of Paris and informed Captain Watkins that he had spoken the Aldergate, which was willing to tow the City of Paris to Queenstown. He also offered to take off her passengers and leave them at Queenstown, not New York as has been reported, and even stated to Captain Watkins that if absolutely necessary to save life he would tow the City of Paris to Queenstown. Captain Watkins, on learning from Captain Roberts that the Aldergate would tow him, signaled "Thanks, go ahead," so he proceeded on his voyage.
