Mayor Michael V. DiSalle of Toledo, Democratic candidate for the U. S. Senate nomination in the May 2 primary in a bulletin sent to leaders of DiSalle clubs and committees throughout Ohio reiterated his call for "efficient, economical government as the ever-present goal of the Congress" and "jobs and business preferential consideration for 'risk capital' from a tax standpoint."
DiSalle again urging that "a report of the Commission of the Reorganization of Government (Hoover Commission) should be placed in effect, wherever possible" added "it is my strong belief that efficient, economical government should be the ever-present goal of the Congress of the United States."
The Toledo Mayor added "in my expression for economy, I do not advocate 'cheap' government or mere 'paper savings' at the expense of vital services and national security and defense needs."
As to encouraging investors to provide new and more jobs for workers and supply the demands of an expanding economy, DiSalle said: "Risk capital, I believe should be given some preferential consideration from a tax standpoint, in order to encourage those volunteering to take such risk to have an assurance that such enterprising spirit will not be inequitably thwarted by a tax barrier to initiative."
