Halifax, Sept. 21. By papers and letters from New-England, and other parts of the United or rather Disunited states, we find one universal scene of anarchy and confusion prevailing: and it is the opinion of the most intelligent among them, that matters are fast hastening towards another revolution. Each state at present possesses powers so totally independent of the others, that no general system can be adopted. They begin to find that a government with so many heads is a monster in politicks—and that the democratical government is productive of more real evils than one altogether monarchical—The happiness which these states formerly enjoyed, under the government of Britain, where the kingly and popular powers are so equally mixed, they will now in vain lament the want of—in exchange for this, they have obtained INDEPENDENCE! a charming word indeed! but productive of more ills than Pandora's Box: for the Box of Pandora, being suddenly shut, prevented Hope from flying out with its other contents—but the precious Box of Independence has been so incautiously opened, that even Hope seems to have taken wings.

By papers and letters from New-England and other parts of the United or rather Disunited states, one universal scene of anarchy and confusion prevails. Opinion of the most intelligent is that matters are fast hastening towards another revolution. Each state possesses powers so totally independent that no general system can be adopted. They find government with so many heads a monster in politicks, and democratical government productive of more real evils than monarchical. Happiness under British government, with equally mixed kingly and popular powers, now vainly lamented in exchange for INDEPENDENCE, productive of more ills than Pandora's Box, from which even Hope has flown.
