The Youth Hobby Show and Boy Scout exhibit will be held again this year in the auditorium of the Wethersfield High School, Saturday afternoon and evening, February 23, 1946. All school children have been invited to display their hobbies and there is every indication that this year's show will even surpass the one held last year which was one of the most interesting and educational events ever held in Wethersfield.
Children's hobbies will be displayed in groups according to school grade and there will be first, second and third award ribbons for each grade with suitable grand prize awards. Already many of the children have signified their intention of showing their hobbies which are most varied and include displays covering stamps, buttons, shells, paintings, dolls, woodworking, match covers and many others.
The Scout exhibit promises to be extremely interesting. This display will be made up by members of the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Cubs, Brownies, Mariners with the Sea Scouts promising another unique presentation. There will be many new adult exhibits with several new displays by the adult hobbyists who showed their work last year. These exhibits are extremely interesting and provide much inspiration for the younger people in starting and maintaining hobbies. The adults do not compete for prizes.
The committee chairmen of the Youth Hobby Show and Scout exhibit are as follows: General Chairman, Prentice Waite; Rules and Awards, Wm. Lepper; Refreshments, Herb. Roesch; Publicity, Bill Greenough; Treasurer and Tickets, Herb Hubbard; Exhibit Safety, Chas. Seymour; Printing, Al. Lepper; Display, Bob Low; Adult Exhibit, Stan Rees, and Co-ordinator between Scouts and Cubs, Fred Almquist.
