GERMAN RAIDER IS BELIEVED ARMED

NEW YORK, Jan. 19. - Eleven British warships are hurrying into the south Atlantic waters seeking the German raider.

It is generally believed that the raider is armed, reports two captive ships, the Saint Theodore and Yarrowdale, which became prey of rovers.

The Yarrowdale is reported as having arrived at Cape Verde island with the crews of eight ships sunk.

The allied warships are watching several merchantmen suspected of plying the raider with information and ammunition.
