PRESIDIO TRAINING
CAMP OPENS TODAY

San Francisco, May 14. The military training camp at the Presidio will open tomorrow sharp at 5:45 a. m. with the sounding of reveille. Twenty-five hundred prospective officers of the new American army will turn out from bunk and blanket ready to start the three months' course of study which is calculated to make them fit to lead men into battle, care for them on the march and oversee them in camp.
Of the 2,500 who reported here, nearly 1,000 were already members of the officers' reserve corps. The others are candidates and whether they will obtain commissions depends upon their own merits.
The men are housed in barracks, some of brick and others of frame construction, formerly occupied by the regular army units.
