resolutions to Gordon Gray, University president, and Chancellor Robert House. The statements demanded equal rights for all students on the campus.

Gray, a member of the Psychological Warfare Board, was in Washington and unavailable for comment. House refused.

The resolutions grew out of charges first made last Thursday by a law student, one of six of his race admitted to the University's professional schools this year, that Negroes are not being treated like the rest of the students.

The University maintains that Negro students are only entitled to equal use of educational facilities.

In a policy statement, it was declared that athletic events are not considered a part of the educational facilities.

James R. Walker, 27, objected to sitting in a behind-the-goal post-stand provided for Negroes at Tar Heel football games. They refused free tickets to the section offered by University officials.

Walker said: "I feel I am a part of the student body. I want to cheer and express school spirit as a part of the student body."
