Full Text

A Street Duel.-Last evening J. Bougeon and Leon Deming were riding behind one of the St. Charles street dummy cars, when a dispute arose between them about some insignificant question. On arriving at Clinton street both men left the car, evidently intending to fight it out on that line. They had scarcely landed when Deming drew his revolver and fired four shots at his opponent, each bullet getting home—one on Bougeon's nose, one in his right arm and two in his back, the latter being the worst, and perhaps fatal. Deming was arrested and Bougeon sent to his home on Zimpel street.
