SICK AND DESTITUTE.
An Appeal For Aid by an Old Texas Fireman.
Chief Engineer Bart Moore is in receipt of the following postal card from St. Louis, dated November 21:
"Chief Littlepage, of your state, relapsed yesterday with a violent hemorrhage, resulting from an accident on the railroad last fall. He is in destitute condition and his friends in Texas ought to know it."
V. I. CARPENTER
Chief Moore is now absent from the city, or no doubt he would start a subscription for the relief of ex-Chief Littlepage at once. Littlepage was at one time chief of the Temple fire department, and figured as a leading member of the State Firemen's association. Something over a year ago, he was crippled in a railroad wreck, and since that time he has been unable to take care of himself, and now that he is reported as being in destitute circumstances, it is hoped his friends - and they are legion in this state - will start a paper for his relief. Let some one take the lead and Waco will do her part.
