We recently received the following letter from the Immigration department of the Iron Mountain railroad which shows the interest that company is taking in the advancement of our part of the country.
MR. J. H. HAND,
YELLVILLE, ARK.,
DEAR SIR:-
Knowing that the people in your vicinity are interested in the advancement and development of the country tributary thereto, I earnestly request that you co-operate with me in obtaining the best possible exhibit products for display at the "National Land & Irrigation Exposition", to be held at the Coliseum, Chicago, Ill.. November 19th, December 4th.
The Missouri Pacific-Iron Mountain Ry.. has 1,200 square feet of space, and we desire to obtain excellent samples of products grown in the West and Southwest, for a first class show. This is of mutual interest, and, I not only believe you will assist in this matter, but, will make extraordinary effort to present a display that will be conceded the best one in the building. You may rest assured that is my aim.
Each and every article should be tagged showing name of article, where and by whom grown, and the yield per acre, etc.
As soon as these samples have been prepared, advise and arrangements will be made for transportation of same.
